Director Of Player Development Introduction
The Grand River Hockey Club is excited to continue to grow its development team for our player's. Our goal is to provide players with the highest opportunity to develop by providing them with top quality training.  We are excited to announce Josh Bradshaw as Director of Player Development for the Grand River Hockey Club.

Josh Bradshaw brings over 15 years of experience in identifying and nurturing hockey talent. With a comprehensive background in playing and coaching at competitive levels, Bradshaw is dedicated to creating a robust development program that supports athletes in reaching their full potential.

 

Before Bradshaw became a Player Development Coach, he played Minor Hockey in the City of Cambridge, spent 4 years playing Junior Hockey with the Delhi Travellers, and also played for the OCAA Laurier Golden Hawks. His playing career has equipped him with deep insights into the game which he now leverages in his role in player development.

 

As Head of Player Development, Bradshaw has successfully designed and implemented innovative training programs focusing on skill enhancement, mental toughness, and strategic understanding of the game. Known for his exceptional ability to read each player and develop detailed, individualized plans to improve their skills, he works closely with coaches and players to ensure personalized development plans, fostering an environment where each athlete can excel.

 

Bradshaw is also renowned for breaking down complex skills and abilities into fundamental concepts, ensuring skaters understand and learn skills necessary to level up. He has a unique talent for making intricate techniques attainable, which accelerates the learning process and boosts player confidence.

 

Bradshaw has been a coach and development trainer for over 15 years, leading ORHL teams to multiple tournament wins. He is the Owner and Head Power Skating Coach of Cold Contact Hockey, now rebranded to Ascend Athletic Academy which has led thousands of skaters to achieve their athletic goals. 

 

He continuously seeks ways to innovate and improve the development processes within the league.  Bradshaw is committed to the league’s growth and sustainability, providing top-tier training, resources, and opportunities for players and staff.
